Some Hoboken politicians are trying to scare you, but here’s the truth: We don’t have to choose between greenspace and an economically successful waterfront.
NY Waterway — the ferry company — will enlarge, improve and maintain the walkway on their dock property and build and maintain a fishing pier and a kayak landing on the land north of their property. The best part? NY Waterway will do all of this at no expense to taxpayers.
Or Hoboken officials can force taxpayers to pay millions – with no actual understanding of the total cost – to buy the property, rezone the usage and build a park few residents can access, all the while threatening the continued operations of the ferry that so many rely upon.
There’s a false choice. And there’s a better choice. It’s up to you.
